Why?

The reduction of the little vaginal lips, called labiaplasty or nymphoplasty, is still relatively unknown and is often deemed to be taboo. Many women however believe that their lower lips (or little lips) are over-developed. They can be embarrassed, not only aesthetically but also physically, especially for the practice of sport when they have to wear special clothing, or during sexual intercourse.

Labiaplasty, a relatively simple intervention, enables the little lips to be reduced as a remedy for such unwanted physical or aesthetic attributes.

The Intervention

During the intervention, under local or general anaesthesia, the cosmetic surgeon removes the excess tissue. The thread that is used is absorbable and the stitches are zigzagged so that a supple scar is obtained. The reduction of the little lips takes approximately an hour and leaves no visible scar.

Results and Post-Operative Treatment

The patient can return home on the very day of the intervention.

A gnawing pain can be felt and an oedema can appear, both of which quickly decrease. You are advised to wear cotton underwear during the first week after the intervention, and to be sure to dry the area concerned with the greatest care. Sexual intercourse during the month after the operation is not recommended.

The final results can be assessed after approximately one month. The intervention leaves no visible scar and enables the little lips to keep all of their sensitivity.
